Define the exact area
Identify the front, rear and side walls to be worked on, including window reveals and awkward sections. Photographs help establish the scope. Ask whether existing coatings need removing and what repair or preparation is included.
Plan around the house
Mention narrow access, neighbouring boundaries, lower roofs and conservatories. Discuss scaffolding and what happens to downpipes, cables, satellite dishes and other fittings. Agree who will remove and refit each item, rather than leaving it to the day work starts.
Leave room for the weather
Exterior work depends on conditions and the render system’s requirements. Ask how scheduling and protection will be handled if the weather changes. Confirm the proposed finish, materials, payment arrangements and any guarantee in writing before booking the job.
